Help (Frequently Asked Questions)

I can't get any films to play, what's wrong?
You need the absolute latest version of flash to view our movies. Unless you installed flash since January 2008, you'll need to update.

To update flash to the latest version, download it here:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

After installing you can check your flash version here, it should say 9.0.115.0 (or something higher):

Is there an upload limit?
No, you can upload files of any size or length. There is no limitation, unlike some other sites.
What video formats/codecs can I upload to NoobFlicks?
Divx, Xvid, x264, h264, WMV, MOV, MP4, AVI - almost every major format is supported.
I can't upload any films - it won't work for me. How do I fix it?
Your probably have a bad install of java on your browser. Uninstall Java from the add/remove programs area and try again.
What Operating Systems and browsers does NoobFlicks support?
The site works across the board on Mac, Windows, and Linux. It should work with all major browsers including Safari, Firefox, and Opera, and even that crappy Internet Explorer.
The videos are loading really slow for me. Wtf?
Our videos are quite high bitrate, and therefore it's expected to get a little congested at times. Just let us know in the forums if things get really bad.
How long does it take to post my video after I upload? How does that work?
Your video will be automatically posted as soon as its ready. You will receive an automatic email that gives you the URL to the video. It will also appear on the "Newly Submitted" tab automatically.
How does a video get to the "popular videos" tab?
NoobFlicks keeps track of how many people watched the movie and, more importantly, the voting score. Movies that get more views and higher vote scores in a shorter period of time will move up the ranks to the popular videos tab.
Does NoobFlicks host the original upload that I submit?
No, NoobFlicks will convert your file to x264 and allow users to download that instead. The x264 file can be viewed with VLC player or any other mediaplayer that can view x264 files.
Can I embed NoobFlicks Movies into other websites?
Yes you can. Press the "menu" button on the media and select "embed" you get the embed code.
How can I contact NoobFlicks Staff?
Come into our IRC Chat Channel: #noobflicks on irc.gamesurge.net
Someone else uploaded MY movie. Can you do something about that?
If you can prove that you made the movie, and you really really want it to be listed under your own account, we can change that for you.
What does NoobFlicks have to offer compared to sourceradio or other streaming sites?
I don't know, maybe that we don't have the word "source" in our name?
